Eden Theological Seminary, one of our United Church of Christ seminaries, will be offering an on-line biblical studies course beginning in February.
Dr. John Bracke, the Martha McCall Egan Professor of Biblical Studies, will teach Biblical Studies I on-line beginning February 2010. This course is a great opportunity for adult education, continuing education, or getting a taste of seminary education.
Biblical Studies I - Torah and Former Prophets
This first required biblical studies course introduces students to critical approaches to the study of the Torah (Genesis – Deuteronomy) and Former Prophets (Joshua, Judges, Samuel, Kings) that have been important in biblical scholarship over the last 150 years.
There are two options for participation in this on-line course.
Option 1: Students may take the course as a Credit Non-Degree student. Credit Non-Degree students must have a bachelor’s degree and apply for admission. The Credit Non-Degree application is on the Eden website. Cost for the credit non-degree course is $1,230. A transcript will be on file and your three-credit class may be transferred into a degree program in the future.
Option 2: Students may audit the course. Auditors do not apply for admission to Eden and are not required to have a bachelor’s degree. An auditor form and other information can be found on the Eden website. Auditors do not take exams or write papers for the course and will not receive academic credit. Cost to audit the class is $615.
Curl up at home with a cup of coffee and your computer for an excellent course taught by a leading Old Testament scholar.
